VANILLA OLIVE OIL SUGAR SCRUB
1/2 cup granulated (white) sugar
2 cups Turbinado sugar (sugar in the raw)
1 Tablespoon honey
1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
1 Tablespoon Vanilla extract (or your favorite essential oil)
Combine the two sugars in a bowl and mix to incorporate. Add olive oil and stir. Mix in honey and vanilla. Store in an airtight jar and enjoy!
* This is a coarse scrub, if you would like a more gentle scrub you can substitute brown sugar for the turbinado sugar.
* You may add more olive oil to your jar after packing if you desire a different consistency.
* Oil will settle in the jar so stir before using.
* I do not recommend using this scrub on your face. It is intended for use on the body only.
BANANA AND SUGAR SCRUB
1 ripe banana
3 tablespoons granulated sugar
¼ teaspoon pure vanilla extract or your favorite essential oil (optional)
* When the bananas are starting to brown, grab those beauties and put them to use. This one skips the oil and relies purely on the benefit of banana and the gently abrasive sugar.Smash ingredients together with a fork into a chunky goop. Don’t over-mash or it will become too thin. If you want a banana scrub for your face, reserve some of the banana and mash it separately without sugar. In the shower, pat the sugar mixture and gently massage over your body.
VANILLA, COCONUT AND BROWN SUGAR SCRUB
1/2 cup coconut oil
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
Mix ingredients together. Rub on skin while in the shower, massage, and rinse.
Skin care benefits: Coconut oil is subtly fragrant and slightly miraculous. This one is a super moisturizer
CAFFEINE BODY SCRUB – Amazing for Cellulite – Hello?!?
1/2 cup fresh coffee grounds
1/2 cup white granulated sugar (or brown sugar, for sensitive skin)
Olive oil (add as much as you need in order to get a paste-like consistency)
A dash of cinnamon
To use, wet your skin and massage the product into the affected areas on your body. Personally, I like to use this on my entire body since it leaves my skin soft and supple. For the treatment of cellulite, massage into the skin for roughly 3-5 minutes, and then rinse off. If you have oily skin, you can follow up with a light body wash in order to wash away the residue from the olive oil.
Power of coffee and cinnamon: The caffeine and antioxidants in coffee have been proven to mitigate the appearance of cellulite in the user for the short-term. The caffeine in coffee works to help dilate the blood vessels, temporarily tightening and toning the tissue. Caffeine also increases circulation and is effective in reducing water retention, which will help smooth the look of the affected area. The antioxidants in coffee are brilliant at releasing the toxins in your skin, which isn’t only helpful for your cellulite, but it’s also great for healthy skin in general.
Cinnamon, which is known to plump up the skin and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
