DIY Face Masks
2 Kiwis pureed
1 Tbsp plain yogurt
1 Tbsp Orange juice
1 Tbsp Almond or Olive Oil
Mix together pureed kiwis with yogurt, orange juice and oil until well blended.Using your fingertips, apply to the entire face (avoiding the eyes).Leave on until dry, then rinse well.
Skin care benefits: With Kiwi’s powerful antioxidant rich in vitamin C and it’s exfoliating alpha hydroxy fruit acids, this fruit creates more elasticity in the skin.After this mask, your skin will be left soft and brighter.
Peel and puree 4 clementines
1/2 Cup of ground rolled oats
3 Tbsp of raw honey
2 Tsp of Jojoba oil
Mix together pureed clementines, ground oats, honey and jojoba oil. (Add a little water if you desire a thinner consistency). Apply to your face and leave it on for 10 minutes.
Rinse with warm water.
Save in the fridge the leftovers in a tightly covered jar for up to 2 weeks.
Skin care benefit: This mask will brighten up your complexion. It will help fiht inflammation and helps prevent blemishes.
STRAWBERRY DRAWING MASK
1/2 cup fresh strawberries
1 tablespoon fresh milk
1 tablespoon rice flour or cornstarch
Mash together all ingredients to make a smooth paste. Spread over your face and neck, and leave on for 20 minutes. Rinse with warm water and pat your skin dry. Use twice weekly.
Skin care benefit: Strawberries contain natural antioxidants, which are known to repair skinand act as anti-aging agents, as well as protect your skin from environmental stress. The salicylic acid in strawberries removes dead skin cells, unveiling the smooth, radiant skin below.
2-3 large carrots
4 1/2 tbs honey
Cook carrots, then mash into a smooth consistency. Mix the mashed carrots with honey, and apply to your face. Leave on for 10 minutes before rising off with cool water.
Skin care benefit: With roots in Afghanistan, carrots are known for their high potency of vitamin A, as well as vitamin C, folacin and potassium. Carrot juice moisturizes and repairs skin tissue, while protecting it from sun damage and toning the skin.
1 avocado, peeled and seeded
2 tsp. sweet almond oil or virgin olive oil
Mash avocado and add oil, apply mixture to face and leave on 15 to 20 minutes.
Rinse with lukewarm water and pat dry with towel.
Skin care benefit: Avocados make a moisturizing mask that’s nourishing for dry or sun-exposed skin.
GENTLE OAT MASK
1 Tbsp. honey (runny)
1 egg yolk
4 Tbsp. fine oatmeal
Mix honey and egg yolk together in a small bowl.
Slowly stir in enough oatmeal to make a soft paste.
Smooth mask across face and neck and keep on for 15 minutes.
Rinse off with lukewarm water and pat dry with towel.
1 beaten egg (unclogs pores)
1 carrot (cooked and mashed)
1/2 cup heavy cream
1 avocado (peeled and mashed)
3 tbsp honey
Combine the egg, mashed carrot, cream, avocado and honey in a bowl. Make sure the carrots are cooled down before you add them, or they will start to cook the egg. Stir everything together with a fork until they are well combined. Of course you could also throw everything in the blender and combine it that way.
Spread the mixture all over your face, being careful not to get it in your eyes or mouth. Leave it on for about 10 minutes, then rinse the mask off with plenty of warm water.
You can repeat this relaxing facial mask weekly, or just throw it together when you need to relax and pamper yourself.

OATMEAL AND YOGURT MASK
1 tbsp oatmeal, finely ground
1 tbsp live, organic yogurt (skip the flavored stuff)
A few drops of honey
Add the yogurt to the oatmeal in a small bowl and mix together.
Warm a few drop of honey. To do this, warm a spoon under hot water for a minute, then add a few drops of honey to the spoon.
Stir the honey into the yogurt and oatmeal mixture.
Apply the mask to the face. Leave it on for 10 minutes, then rinse off with several splashes of warm water. Follow with a warm washcloth.
Skin care benefit: This face mask is suitable for all skin types. It will cleanse and rejuvenate your skin.
1/2 cup chopped cucumber
1/2 cup chopped avocado
1 egg white
2 tsp of powdered milk
Combine all of the ingredients in a blender until they form a smooth paste.
Apply the mask to your face and neck using circular upward movements.
Leave the mask on for 30 minutes, or until dry.
Rinse your face and neck with warm water and finish with a cold water rinse.
This mask will keep up to 30 minutes in the refrigerator if you need to prepare it slightly in advance.
